Hi,
I’m Marlee
I’m so glad you’re here! I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior, the beauty of growth, and the incredible resilience of the human spirit. I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and grow into their most authentic selves. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and down-to-earth, rooted in a deep belief in your ability to grow. I tailor therapy to your unique strengths and personality, meeting you where you are and finding what resonates with you.
At the heart of my work is a focus on values—helping you align your life with what matters most to you. I truly believe that everything you need to thrive is already within you, and I feel honored to support you as you uncover your strengths, embrace growth, and create the life you want.
Life Outside the Office
Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m a lover of nature and adventure. Traveling to experience new cultures and beautiful landscapes brings me so much joy, and I find grounding and healing through camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
At home, I enjoy yoga, gardening, and soaking up the small, everyday moments of life. I love spending time with my partner and our wonderful dogs, finding joy in the little things that connect us and bring balance. I believe in living a life aligned with values—one that feels meaningful, peaceful, and authentic.
Education + Experience
After graduating from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My journey to becoming a therapist took time, as I tried to figure out what I wanted to do with my life upon graduation. I explored other fields before realizing my true calling to help others. I returned to school and earned dual Master of Arts degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from North Carolina Central University.
Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of therapy settings, including a substance use intensive outpatient program, an eating disorder intensive outpatient program, and most recently conducting individual outpatient therapy, supporting adolescents and adults navigating a range of concerns, including eating disorders, body image issues, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ concerns, trauma, OCD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, life transitions, grief, and identity exploration.
